Pharma Clinical Supply Chain Inventory Microservices
Client · Pharmaceutical clinical supply chain system
Challenge
A pharmaceutical clinical supply chain tracks study materials across multiple warehouses, each with its own inventory and its own tenants. Traceability is a regulatory requirement, and the inventory core had to exist before any UI or workflow was built. The project needed the data model and API contracts settled first, so development could start without guessing.
Approach
Built on ABP Commercial Edition as a multi-tenant inventory microservice: tenant isolation, warehouse-level stock movements, and a design-first contract. The full API contract and database schema were delivered and signed off before development kickoff.
Traceability was designed into the data model from day one — every movement carries source, destination, batch and timestamp, so any unit can be traced across warehouse locations.
Stack
Results
- ✓ Multi-tenant inventory microservice on ABP Commercial Edition
- ✓ Full API contract + database schema delivered before development kickoff
- ✓ Clinical supply chain traceability across multiple warehouse locations
Takeaway
Design-first delivery — contracts and schema before code — de-risks a system where traceability is a regulatory requirement, not a feature request.
